Raw images





Day 1
Today the first thing that I did was marinate the lamb and the salmon. I then put the lamb and the salmon in the fridge for a couple of hours to let the marinate sink in. While that was happening I prepared the vegetables. I then placed the vegetables on a baking tray in colour order for the picture. I then took pictures of the different vegetables. After that, I put the tray in the oven. I then went and got the lamb chops and then cooked them. I then took pictures of the lamb. After taking the pictures I went to cook the salmon and I then took the images of the salmon. I then checked the images and upload the images to my hard drive. I made sure to put the battery to charge so that it is ready for tomorrow. When it came to setting up the equipment I started to do the tripod and the camera and then the light. When it came to setting up the camera I made sure that I adjusted the white balance, ISO and that everything is in the frame. When setting up the lighting I made sure that I went back and forth between the camera and the lights making sure that the lights were not too bright or too dark. I made sure that I set the tripod to the height that I need the tripod to be at so I can get a good angle of the images. When taking the picture I had to zoom in closer to the image to make sure that I don't get too much of the background of the image. I put the light on one side of the image and I took the image from the other side from a high angle.

Today is the first day of production. I have a time slot to pick up my equipment from college. When I got back home I printed out the recipes and made sure that I had all the ingredients. I realised that I did not have all the ingredients so I walked to Lidl to get what I needed. I made sure that I did not spend out side of my budget. When I got back from the shops I put away what I brought and what I went back to looking at what recipes I am doing this week. I had 15 recipes so I went through and realised it was to much for me to do this week so I decided that I need to cut out 2 recipes but I still made sure that I had enough recipes for my magazines. I did this so that I do not set my self up to fail and that I have enough time to do the recipes.




Day 2
I did the same thing as yesterday but today took a little bit longer. I did was set up the my equipment . The dishes that I made today is the chickpea fritters, pizza and buffalo cauliflower. These recipes took time because I have not cooked buffalo cauliflower and chickpea fritters before and the pizza dough takes time to make. The first thing I did was make the pizza dough so that can rest. I then moved on to preparing the vegetable for the chickpea fritters . I then made the mixture and fried them. After frying the fritters I took the images of them. I then made the buffalo sauce and boil the cauliflower. I then did the toppings for the pizza and rolled out the dough and I then add the topping to the dough and put that in the oven. While the pizza was cooking the cauliflower was cooked so I mixed the buffalo sauce together and put that in the oven for a few minutes. When the cauliflower was don I took the pictures and checked the pizza. After the pizza was ready I took the picture. I reviewed the image and uploaded them to my hard drive. I took down all the equipment and put the camera battery to charge. When it came to setting up the equipment I made sure that I did the same as yesterday and that the settings were the same from yesterday. When I put the chickpeas in the frame I realised that I needed to adjust the height of the tripods needed to be adjusted along with the white balance, ISO and that everything is in the frame. I also needed to change the lighting making sure that it was darker than before because it was to bright. I zoomed in closer to the image as there were a thing in the background so that the images have a clean background. When taking the images I took the same process as I did yesterday by placing the light on one side and the camera on the other side at a high angle so it was at a bird eye view

27/04/2020
The first thing I did today was went through what recipes I could do today. I thought that I should start today so that I have enough time to create the recipes and if I have need to redo one I could do it at the end of the week. The recipes that I did was the tray bake, the Greek lamb and the salmon. I did these ones because they took the longest time to cook. Today I had no problems everything went smoothly. I also made sure that I had everything and that I did not miss anything. When cooking the recipes I made sure that I printed out the recipes and follow the instructions from the recipe. From the recipes that I cooked I made sure that when I took the images I made sure that I remembered what I learnt from my practical with Michael and from the YouTube video Michael. I uploaded the images to my hard drive so that I have them.

28/04/2020
Today I continued with my production. The first thing I did was choosing the recipes I was going to do today. After choosing the recipes I got the recipe and I got all the ingredients together so I am not walking back and forth. I started to early so that I have enough time and that I can take my time making the recipes and taking the images to the best of my ability. The recipes that I did today was the chickpea fritters, the pizza and the buffalo cauliflower. I did these ones because they took long time too cook and I have not made chickpea fritters and buffalo cauliflower before so I made sure that I took my time making them and follow the recipe. I also started early because the pizza is going to take most of the timeToday I had no problems everything went smoothly. From the recipes that I cooked I made sure that when I took the images I made sure that I remembered what I learnt from my practical with Michael and from the YouTube video Michael.

Today I started the day early so that I have enough time create the recipes and if I have need to redo one I could do it at the end of the week. So I decided what recipes I am going to make. The recipes that I decided to make was the biryani, the jerk chicken, the Bami goreng, the tacos and the flatbread and the garlic . I did these ones because some of the recipes took the shortest and the longest amount of time to cook and I have not cooked, flat bread, Bami goreng and biryani before so I made sure that I had enough time . Today I had no major problems. The problem that I had was that the battery went kept dying but I had a spare battery and the battery so that helped me. From the recipes that I cooked I made sure that when I took the images I made sure that I remembered what I learnt from my practical with Michael and from the YouTube video Michael. I made sure that I multiple images so that I have options to choose from.
Day 3
Today I cooked the last of cooking the dishes for my magazine. I set up the equipment to take the images. I made the tacos, Bami goreng, biryani, jerk chicken and the flat bread with garlic butter. These took the long because I have not cooked some of them before so they took a long amount of time. The first thing that I did was was prepare all the vegetables for the recipes. I started with biryani. I put the rice to cook while that was cooking. I made the marinade for the jerk chicken and put that in the fridge to marinade. I then mixed the rice with the vegetables. I took the images of the biryani. I then moved on to doing the next recipe which was Bami goreng recipe. I put the noodles to cook and then the vegetables. While the noodles was cooking I prepared the dough for the flat bread and the garlic butter and put that in the fridge. I took the image of the Bami goreng and then moved on to the next recipe to prepare the tacos and take the images. I then went on to doing the flat bread. I took the images of the flat brad. I then cooked the jerk chicken and took the images of the jerk chicken. After I finished I uploaded the images to my hard drive and packed up the equipment. When setting the equipment up I made sure that I adjusted the camera setting to what I needed them to be for the images I took and the brightness of the lighting. Taking the different images I needed to adjust the height height of the tripod because at first it seemed to low but when I adjusted it a bit higher it seemed better as it had everything in the frame.
