15/04/2021

Today we had to book our maths and English assessment. We then got introduced to what a Contingency plan is and why we would need one. This is my first time doing a contingency plan so I was glad that we did an introduction on it first as it helped me to write my contingency plan as the power point had examples.  I completed the first draft I made sure that I added detail and what could have possibly go wrong in the future. I then went to get feedback on the first draft that I completed. The feedback that I was given included what needs to be changed and what I need to add to my contingency plan. I made those changes to my contingency plan.   I uploaded the first draft  and the second draft to my website. I did this contingency plan because if something does happen I have back up plan in place.

I am researching into my recipes because I feel like I could add a variety of recipes that caters to different dietary needs. I feel that in my previous research I did not add that variety. I only looked at few options for my recipes as I previously picked some recipes.

Colour swatches

For my magazine I am still not sure about what colours I should use for my magazine. I do know that I want to use neutral and bold colours for my magazine. These colours above is what I was thinking of what I want to include in my magazine I do not want to include all of them but I wanted to have options so that if one colour does not work I have options.

Today I  looked at the different colour swatches that I am think of including in my magazine. I looked at neutral and bold colours that would be nice to include in my magazine. I did this because I need to know what colours I am going to use in my magazine. I then moved on to looking at the different fonts I can use for my magazine. This was hard because I don't really know what type of fonts I want to use in my magazine. I then had a practical with Michael which was very useful because he taught me different techniques that I can use when I am taking my pictures

From my font justification I chose this font for the titles in my magazine. I chose this font because it has a sleek finish to the font. It is classy but simple. The font stands out and definitely catches the eye and people's attention.

22/04/2021

Today I continued to work on my pre-production paperwork. I started to look at the props that I would need. I finished doing the font choices for my magazine. I stated why I chose that specific font. I then did the location release it is almost finished I just have to get it signed. I then moved on to preparing the recipes for my magazine so that next week I don't have to looking for them. I did these because when it comes to me designing my magazine I already have chosen my font and that I have permission to use the location.  I had my third progress review today. Most things were ticked of as done but I still had somethings that needed to be completed.

23/04/2021

Today is the last the deadline for pre-production to be completed. Today I am working on the things that I have not completed. The first thing that I completed was the location release as that was nearly finished as it only need to be signed and then I continued to work on the other paperwork that I did not complete. After I completed the different paperwork that needed to be completed I made sure that I uploaded it  to my website. I did this so that next week I can start production and that I am organised. After I completed that I did the write up for both my practical's  and added the videos that Michael and Chloe sent me. After that I worked through what I have left to do from my progress reviews. I did this so that next week I can give my full attention taking the images 

Practical sessions

Food photography

In my practical with Michael we discussed food photography . He told me lighting with me and angles with me. With lighting he told me that there are certain angles that I would need to be careful with because of the shadows. He explained what angles I should take the images and how to deal with the shadows. With the shadows I learnt about making the harsh shadows softer in the images. What I learnt in the practical will help me to take the images to the best of my ability. Michael has suggested two different  that I have watched and they have helped me. I will use the tips and techniques they have used in the videos so that the images are the best to my ability.

InDesign

I had a practical in using InDesign. In the practical I learnt the basic of using InDesign. I learnt to use InDesign  for magazines. This will help to understand the software more. The software is very similar to photoshop so I think that I will get use to it once I start to use it. The tools are very similar to photoshop but they have differences. I have learnt how to wrap text so that the text goes around the image. With this software I am nervous about using it as it is my first time using it. 

Form both these practical's I have learnt  new techniques and skills that I will put into practice.
