How to produce a game show?
I learnt that a game show:
-
Should have a clear identity so that the audience know what show it is.
-
Simplicity so the show isn't to detailed and bores the audience and with the rules it will make it easier for the audience to play along at home
-
Don't over complicate the game show.
-
It should be great to play along to so that the audience can play along to at home
-
It should be fun but have some jeopardy to it so it gives the show more tension.
-
Structer of the show of how it builds up to the end and how on each round someone will lose eventually.
-
Contestants of the show they look for good personality and a good character and people that haven't been on a game show before
-
Technology because it is able to give the audience an opportunity to try the different show by apps or online.
-
Prizes because each contestant wants to win the jackpot and when they get a question correct they win some money.
-
Questions are asked from different categories and they have a team that make the questions.

We continued to work on multi-camera production wor. We got in pairs and analyse celebrity juice in detail as a practice so that we can analyse two shows for homework. We got to understand more about celebrity juice
There are 16 cameras in total but there could be more that I didn't see but each camera has a purpose. The purpose is that some catches the audiences reactions, catches spontaneous things and also catches things that is happening on the stage. They used different shots like close ups, tilts, pans, zoom and tracking. They are mounted on a crane, hand held and a pedestal. This is all an example of coverage of action. This shows the event from different angle and the different aspects of the show that are on display
We see the audience in the shot on purpose because it makes the audience at home more interested and engaged. It shows the viewing audience how exciting the event is and how the energy of the show is very thrilling. This relates to multi camera production by engaging the audience and maintains the audience interest.
The gallery roles is to control the sound and vision mixer which is based backstage. They have to edit in pre-recorded footage. The pace of this show was fast paced. The footage was behind the scenes of rehearsals and Beyoncé's voice over of why she wanted to create Coachella as a movie. The cameras were in a crossfire formation. Some of the cameras stay in a similar position but then some of the cameras move around. This is to get different angles of the stage. This is to make the viewers feel like they are there and that they eager to know what is going to happen next. The set was the stage which was black the backdrop was the singers, dancers and the band. Shots of the logo on the costumes communicate meaning of what the event is.
The lighting is bright because the sky was dark so the audience and the viewers can see the stage properly. The camera ops and Beyoncé had an earpiece in to hear what is going on a and to where to stand. They get close up of their reactions. This makes the audience focus their attention to the star of the event and their performance. The audience, the dancer, singers, band and Beyonce ignore the camera as it wasn't there but also look at the camera at times when they look into the camera the audience feels engaged and like she is performing just for them. There are shots of the audience dancing and sing along this makes them feel like they are part of it. Beyonce is scripted of what is come next and adlibbed so it feels natural. They use an earpiece so that they can hear the directions. They do this a rehearsed way. The camera movements follow what is happening on stage. The constraints of the location environment is that they don't have limited space however the challenge is that they have a lot of equipment on the stage. The health and saftey issue is the wires and they could drop off stage or that they can trip over something however they have someone guiding them as we see in the shot above

They have 6 cameras in total. They all switch to different cameras. Each host looks at specific camera to make it seem like they are talking to the audience at home. The camera uses different cameras like pan, tilt, zoom and tracking shots. The cameras are mounted by a pedestal, crane, jib and hand held. The audience sees the cameras in the shot when they go to the audience. I think that this was intended because it gives the audience at home an insight of the audience in the studio and their reactions. . They go between pre-recorded footage and live footage. The footage is played on the screen behind them but it is very clear. This is an example of coverage of action and maintaining the viewers interest.
At the beginning the filmed behind the set this is to give the audience the insight of what happens behind the scenes and makes them feel more comfortable. The studio colours are purple so it will appeals to both genders. The furniture makes the set more cosy and at home. The back drop behind the table has a screen so we can watch the videos while the hosts are still in the frame. The logo on the screen behind the hosts. The lighting is bright. The significance of the lighting is to make the studio comfortable. They have ear pieces in so they can hear to what the people are saying to what camera to look into. This is an example of the visual style
The camera close up on the host to reaction or when they are speaking to make it more personal and makes it seems like they are speaking to the audience to home. This happens at 3.50 because the host is trying to emphases her point and makes it seems like the host is talking to the audience at home. The hosts and the audiences interact well because they make it more like a conversation and ask the audience questions. They do speak directly into the camera and address the viewers. I think that I adlibbed and scripted because it makes the show feel natural. This is an example of communicating meaning to the viewer.
The constraints they have in the studio is that they limited space so that they are in frame when they are doing certain things. Health and safety is the wires from different thing.
